Right, so I have finally decided to join this blogging phenomenon...didn't take too much of of my time to set up an account... hmmm not entirely true - we'll come back to that later.
I was reading my sister's blog yesterday and for some unknown reason I felt really compelled to start my own; possibly because I like to talk in every way possible or maybe because my opinion are of such value I just have to share them with the world-wide-web community. HA! I feel very sorry for those who have not yet been subjected to my nattering tendencies.
Anyway...once upon a time I came across a website www.blogger.com signed up with the sole purpose of posting my poetry online. So I joined with one of my many email addresses and alas I was part of the www community.
I was very silly indeed I must say because I didn't take this blogging thing seriously. I honestly thought to myself 'how sad to spend time doing this'. Anyway, after going through other peoples' poetry via the category search I decided that I no longer wanted to share my poetry with the www - someone will steal my writings and I will never be able to prove that it was my work. So I never visited www.blogger.com again. This was a very, very long time ago.
So why have I decided to come back... purely because I see www.blogger.com in a whole new light after reading my sister's blog - well mainly because I wanted to post a comment and it wouldn't let me without signing up!
However, to be fair I am part of the facebook community, myspace community, mymonhtlycycles community, Stephanie Meyer community, Christine Feehan community and other communities that I can't even remember, so why not the blogger community?!
Going back to creating my account, it was all too easy to be true until I came across creating my blog title..the one that will take precedent over any nickname I chose to use on here. Anyway...
I came up with several ideas:
- I was born on Mars
- I'm a woman from Mars
- Pinko
- Kirby Grip addict
- Fromage frais
- Blinblineo
- Checkmate
These names didn't quite stick with me except for the second - don't ask me why, it just did!
So I typed into Google: blog names, and Oh did hell break lose - urgh article after article about how you really must think about your blog name as branding, the type of audience your are trying to attract, what emotion will your chosen blog name evoke...blah, blah, blah - I just wanted someone to have written a list of cool blog names so that I could steal them - naughty of me I KNOW!
I left it for a while and thought let me go to the shops and bought some jelly, or Jello as Americans call them. I came home and tucked into a strawberry one and it turned into juice in my mouth and I thought JELLYJUICE!!! Sad but very true! I got very excited. I put my jelly down and went back onto google and typed in: jelly - I got a description from some page stating ....wiggle and shake.... I loved it - I saw lovely images of jelly in all shapes and sizes, colours and flavours and I thought, yes! That is what my blog is going to about anything and everything, it won't conform to anything just like myself!
So here I am - I have now invaded the ww.blogger.com with my crazy self!
